The guide behind the reel
Give Claude ears with Earshot (open source)
If you edit videos with Claude, one problem shows up fast. Claude cannot reliably hear the audio inside your video. It either transcribes or guesses. With Earshot, you can route the audio so Claude can use it to edit more accurately.
What you need
4 things- Claude project access
- A Claude project where you can paste a repo URL
- Video file you want to edit
- Earshot repo URL: github.com/Leonxlnx/earshot
The steps
3 steps-
Get the Earshot tool
First, go to the Earshot repo.
Link of the tool: https://github.com/Leonxlnx/earshot
On screen, you should see the repo page on GitHub. This is where the exact repo URL will come from.
-
Paste the repo URL into your Claude project
Now open your Claude project.
Copy the repo URL and paste it in your claude project with this prompt.
What you should see: inside your Claude project, there will be a place to add the tool or repo reference, plus a prompt input where you provide the instruction.
Copy this repo url and paste it in your claude project with this prompt.
-
Use the prompt so Claude can listen to the audio
Use the prompt as written for the Claude project.
Why this step matters: the whole point is Claude can listen to the actual sounds in the video, including small moments, not just guess from a transcript.
Now you should see the Claude flow treat the video audio as input it can respond to.
Now claude can listen to even little moments a keyboard click or a disturbance and edit the video properly.
Try next
- Try editing a short video segment with a clear sound (keyboard click or disturbance) and compare it to edits you made without Earshot.
That is the whole thing
If a step did not work the way I said, tell me in the comments on the reel: I fix these.
